SSI Aeration, Inc. creates multi-layer PTFE membranes that reduce scaling, fouling and cleaning frequency. As the worldwide choice of PTFE membrane manufacturer, we always work toward engineering the next development in membrane technology.
PTFE membranes from SSI have a long reputation for improving fouling resistance and the need for cleaning. Compared to standard EPDM membranes from leading manufacturers, these PTFE membranes can improve on these aspects by a factor of five to 10.
Industrial Aeration Diffuser Membranes
The SSI team developed and patented the PTFE membrane in 2004. It has seen over a decade of use in multiple industries across the world due to its enhanced performance over typical EPDM materials. This PTFE membrane includes two components:
- EPDM substrate: Manufacturing begins with an EPDM membrane created with precision in mind. Using cutting-edge equipment, we form each membrane using compression molding and a standard cure. Vacuum technology and individual thermocouples ensure quality and consistency in production.
- PTFE surface layer: After the production of the EPDM base, a PTFE coating is added. The PTFE protects the EPDM from chemicals while reducing surface fouling.
This patented design promotes quality, uniformity and cost-efficiency over time.
Industries served:
Industries across the world consider SSI’s PTFE membranes a “must have” in their wastewater aeration operations. Since PTFE improves EPDM’s lifespan, lowering life cycle costs, many use it as an industry standard. Its reduced need for maintenance and cost benefits throughout the life cycle also make it a top choice among municipal treatment plants. SSI’s PTFE membranes find use in:
- Municipal wastewater plants
- Oil and gas refineries
- Meat processing plants
- Carbonated beverage factories
- Food production facilities
- Pulp and paper mills
- Dairy Plants
SSI Aeration, Inc.’s PTFE membranes offer enhanced efficiency in a wide range of applications. Industrial and municipal operations consider them the worldwide choice because of their stellar performance.
Features and Benefits
Additional features and benefits of SSI’s PTFE membranes include:
Competitive standard oxygen transfer efficiency (SOTE)
SSI membranes’ high SOTE rates improve system performance. As a result, the client experiences improved cost reduction.
Outstanding resistance to chemicals, oils and solvents
Wastewater can include a variety of compounds that wear down standard membranes. PTFE membranes resist these components, promoting an extended lifespan and enhanced results.
Reduced calcium scaling and fouling
The PTFE coating on SSI membranes also resists the wear caused by general use. It can withstand fouling and scaling better than typical membranes on the market.
These advantages improve plant operations and reduce overall costs.
